Artist Statement: This series of photographs is about capturing an object and portraying it in a number series, the first picture with one shoe, the second with two shoes, so on and so on. The pictures come together because it's the same object just multiplied. It's not the same exact object seeing as the heels are different styles and colors, but it's the fact they are all heels that brings the picture together. I represented form and shape in these photos. I feel the most successful part of my pictures was the angle I shot the shoes from after trying a whole bunch! The least successful part of these pictures was first of all the shoes didn't want to stay balanced for that long, but I tried to work as fast as i could to get a good shot with the shoes still on the fountain. The second obstacle was when I thought of my idea for this picture I didn't realize all the things around the are, but even so I think the shoes are what catches your eyes the most, so it was alright. If I could do this project again I would think of another location that was cool, but where the shoes would stay or balance better.

Hi Aubrey. It is funny because what I love most about your photographic series is the environment you chose for the heels. I am sure you must have had a difficult time getting the heels to stay in place. However, I believe the reason the background works is because it is generally all a similar, neutral tone then you have the POP of colors, which make the heels stand out. The other reason why I think your background is great is because heels are seen as delicate/feminine and I like the rocky/rugged environment it is placed in. But you never know what other great backgrounds there are until you try, good job!
